I am blessed

Sometimes when I feel depressed or frustrated, it just helps to say how blessed I am. I recently hurt my back and have been in a lot of pain. It is incredible how depressing pain can be. I can't lift my son up without paying for it later. When I am feeling the blues, I try not to mope, but say how much God has blessed me. So here are a few blessings:

*Having a personal, loving relationship with Christ
*Two beautiful, healthy (at least for this week), miraculous children
*A husband that loves me, is committed to me, and provides for my family
*A best friend that just gets me
*Extended family around the corner that are there in an instant
*A home I truly feel I can raise my family in
*A pastor and church family that are there for me the instant I need it

See, it always helps. So, if any of you are feeling down, make a short list of your blessings.

Always remember God is awesome and Holy!

Cassity Morning Insanity

I just thought I would post a few pictures of our morning insanity. The kids wake up at 0630, but they are hilarious.

We had a nice little scare with Gabriel this weekend. Saturday night we took him in to ORMC's ER because he would not stop screaming or moaning. They ran the runner of tests on him (CT scans, X-rays, lumbar punctures, IV draws, RSV, Influenza and so much more) and could not find out what was wrong. He was in so much pain that 2 doses of morphine wouldn't even knock him out. When the pediatrician saw him, the decided to send us down to Primary's because his stomach was so rigid, guarded, and painful. They wanted him to be closer to surgeons just in case. After a fun little ambulance drive to Primary's, they ran a slew of tests again and watched him. They finally decided that he had gastroenteritis (inflammation of the bowel) and he just couldn't tolerate the pain. I know that God was watching out for our little boy. It could have been so much worse. We came home Tuesday and he is exhausted and worn out. The poor guy doesn't want to do anything but have Mommy hold him. We are grateful and blessed our little boy was safe.

February

I knew that I had set one of these up and just figured out what I named it. I am really savy with this internet stuff.

I think that the kids are finally going to get healthy. Tristen had her tonsils out in the end of January and Gabe had tubes in is ears the same day. It was a really hard decision to decide to put your children under anesthesia, but the doctor said that Tristen's tonsils were so infected that they pussed when he removed them. I will never have 2 kids have surgery on the same day again, but they are both doing great now. We are hoping this will help with my children's chronic sicknesses.

Gabe is now crawling, but he is a maniac. He crawls everywhere and when you tell him "no, no", he laughs. He is so much more aggresive than Tristen was. I really think I am loving this little boy thing. Princess's are fun, but I really like boys too.

I have been working a lot in the ER lately and totally love it. I don't think that I will ever be permanently in the ER, but it is fun. I had one patient shooting up drugs in the bathroom and one pt mentally insane from a drug reaction. It was crazy and so much fun! I need my calm days every now and then though, so I love floating.

The beautiful month of December

We have had a busy Christmas season in the last month or so. Matt is now done with one more semester at school with 3 more to go and counting. Tristen will be 3 on (as she says) "New Year's Day." Gabriel wants to crawl, and almost can, but is determined to frustrate his mother to death.

We are getting closer to finishing this house. We are hoping to have the main living area painted before Christmas. Then off to the cabinets, counters, bathrooms, bedrooms, curtains, yard, basement, new appliances, etc.

We are more than excited for the holidays. This will be the first year in about 3 years that all Matt's family can be together.
